Vermont Housing and Conservation Coalition Legislative Day Is Coming Up!

The Vermont Housing and Conservation Coalition Legislative Day is the day for housing and conservation supporters to champion the projects and values supported by Vermont Housing & Conservation Board funding.

What?

From VHCC’s Website: Legislators need to hear from YOU — Vermonters doing the work on the ground — about how VHCB-funded projects are helping solve some of Vermont’s most pressing issues. Together, our partnership with VHCB helps fight homelessness, improves water quality, creates affordable housing, supports downtown development, protects Vermont’s priceless landscape, and promotes rural economic development, including working farms, forests and the outdoor recreation economy.

From Champlain Housing Trust: The Vermont Housing and Conservation Board has been underfunded for years, and this year the Governor is not only recommending a budget with $7.4 million below statute, but also proposing a $1.05 million cut from last year. We need to restore VHCB funding to its full, statutory amount to strengthen our present and prepare for the future. These investments create safe, decent housing, boost the recreation and local food economies, save special places, and help clean water all across the state.

This year we are pushing for full statutory funding for VHCB and we need YOUR HELP to make the case!
