Over $30 Million Awarded By FHLB Boston for Affordable Housing in New England

Writer's picture: David MartinsDavid Martins

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston (FHLB) recently funded over 40 affordable housing projects in several Northeastern states, including Vermont. Funding was awarded to projects that support the creation or preservation of affordable housing for individuals and families whose earnings are at or less than 80% of local median income.  Vermont projects that received funding through FHLB are: Mountain View Apartments in Hancock, the Jennifer Lane Project in Manchester Center, Bardwell House Apartments in Rutland, Green Street Transitional Housing in Vergennes, and Bobbin Mill Apartments in Burlington. Vermont Tenants and VAHC’s AmeriCorps VISTA member, Valerie Woodhouse, are currently working alongside Bobbin Mill residents to improve communication and foster a sense of community.
