Source: Brattleboro Reformer, April 23, 2011, by Howard Weiss-Tisman “BRATTLEBORO — Windham Housing Trust members have approved a plan to acquire the properties of the Rockingham Area Community Land Trust, and the deal is now expected to officially take place next month. WHT members at a special meeting Thursday voted to change the organization’s name to the Windham & Windsor Housing Trust, and in the coming months officials from both groups will work to transfer the RACLT properties to the new group. Over the past few years, high executive turnover and challenging economic realties forced the RACLT board to take a close look at its organization, and board members from the Springfield-based housing group approached WHT in early 2010 with the plan to bring the two groups together. WHT Executive Director Connie Snow said her organization has been going through the RACLT financial records ever since. The WHT board approved the plan in December, and Snow said that with Thursday night’s vote, the two groups are now poised to move ahead with the transfer. “From the start of the process, one of our primary considerations was ensuring that the expanded organization would be stronger than the sum of its parts,” Snow said. “Every decision that has been made by both organizations has been based on achieving that goal.”…” Full Story: Housing group asset transfer moves ahead PDF of Story: Housing group asset transfer moves ahead
