Ending Poverty in Vermont: Working Together for Our Communities

The State Office of Economic Opportunity will be hosting a training forum on April 11th, 2014 at the Lake Morey Inn in Fairlee, VT for OEO grantees.  The goal of the forum, entitled Ending Poverty in Vermont: Working Together for Our Communities, will be to:

  1. increase our understanding of the complex and interconnected issues contributing to poverty

  2.  build expertise in alleviating poverty on an individual and community level and;

  3.  foster a stronger anti-poverty learning community.

The guidance and planning of this training is coming from an advisory committee comprised of OEO staff and community partners.  This training forum will further cover best practices and innovations across sectors working to reduce poverty.  Presenters and trainers will include colleagues working in Vermont’s Community Action and Weatherization Programs, Homeless and Crisis Housing organizations, and national experts.  The training is free of charge. Please register as soon as possible due to limited availability by going to www.training4-11-2014.com.
